The therapist

Julie Barton has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Oklahoma City area since 2016. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and residential facilities providing direct care, case management and eventually therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. She has worked with trauma survivors, parent/child issues, domestic violence, self-esteem issues, social problems, anxiety, depression, self-harm and crisis situations. She has training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family systems approaches, Narrative metaphor, Trust Based Relational Intervention and integrative approaches. She has been a LPC-Supervisor since 2021 and finds joy in inspiring and guiding others in her field.

Julie continues to pursue knowledge and certifications that enhance her skills and resources she is able to provide her clients and community. She is interested in polyvagal theory, somatic therapies, nutrition, sleep and movement and how they affect our mental health. She is working towards CMPC certification (Certified Mental Performance Consultant) to better work with athletes and is pursuing a certification in functional medicine health coaching with Mind Body Greens.

She enjoys taking the time to get to know her clients, the needs of the community and young mental health professionals so that they each may feel understood and supported. She is dedicated to tailoring approaches to their individual needs, personality and comfortability.
